The National Aviary has named Port Vue resident Janet Robb its 2021 Volunteer of the Year in honor of her years of service and dedication to the Aviary. She is recognized for her strong leadership, excellence in visitor engagement, and ongoing commitment to the National Aviary’s mission to inspire respect for nature through an appreciation of birds.

Ruth and Hugh Scurfield of Clairton have reached a milestone.  Ruth, who is 91 years old and Hugh, who  is 92 years old, have been married for 72 years.   The couple has lived in the same area forever and have 2 daughters, 4 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

William “Billy” Michael Wivagg of Scout Troop 4, from McMurray, PA was recognized for attaining the rank of Eagle Scout in a Court of Honor ceremony held on Saturday January 8, at St. Louise de Marillac Church.  Billy is the son of Bill and Kyra Wivagg.

City Mission will be holding their 28^th annual ‘Sweet Sunday Dessert Festival’ on February 27 from 12:00 noon – 5:00PM at the Hilton Garden Inn Southpointe.   This year’s event, presented by MPLX, will feature live entertainment, kids activities, auctions, raffles, and OF COURSE mouthwatering sweet treats!  Event entry tickets will be sold the day of the event at the door for $5/person or $20/family of 4 or more.  SWEET TREATS - Enjoy many different delights from 20 vendors!
