The Community Christmas event held at Monessen Public Library on Saturday, December 3, 2016 from noon to 2 p.m. featured a schedule of activities for the children this year. The event included food; face-painting; pictures with Santa; crafts; caroling; a giveaway for hats, scarves, and gloves; and the lighting of the Christmas tree. Read more...

The Monessen Christmas Parade was a short one, but the night was full of other activities.  On November 27, 2016, the parade kicked off at 5:30 p.m. in downtown Monessen and ended with the arrival of Santa, portrayed by Gary Painter, by fire truck.
