Wearing white outfits, YCC ladies and their guests had high hopes for victory.  “Diamonds in the Rough” was the theme for the Youghiogheny Country Club 18-Hole Women’s Golf Association as they recently hosted their guest day.

Following a continental breakfast, foursomes played best ball of 4 on par fives, best 2 balls on par fours, and best 3 balls on par threes.  Each participant received a golfer bud vase and “diamond” studded golf towels.

Winners of the event with 102 points were Sandy Payne and her guests, Lisa Popovich, Susie Perrin, and Donna Schneider.

                Winners of skill prizes are as follows:

     Closest to the pin on No. 5: Member, Sandy Payne; Guest, Susan Barie

     Closest to the pin on No. 16: Member, Lorraine Payne; Guest, Jan DeCecco

     Longest putt on No. 9: Member, Betty Lee Hancsak; Guest, Kathy Bellino

     Longest putt on No. 18: Member, Sandy Payne; Guest, Lisa Popovich

ViVickie McDevitt, Betty Lee Hancsack, Penny Natale, Jane Marino, and Diane Riley assisted Chairlady Lynn McHolme with preparations and ballroom decorations. 

 

Winners toting their prize purses are Popovich, Perrin, and S. Payne.  Missing from picture is Schneider.

The defending champions, the Union-Finley Area Athletic Association (UFAAA) Bronco baseball team won the 2017 championship game of the Bethel Church League (BCL) Bronco division playoffs on June 22.
