Jed and Casey Altares would like to introduce their son Gabriel Scott Altares. Born February 2, 2017, 8 lbs. 13 ounces and 21 1/4 inches long.

Charles Boone, 17, of Dormont became one of the rare 4% of Boy Scouts who achieve the rank of Eagle Scout. On August 28, 2016, Troop 236 honored Charles for his accomplishment at an Eagle Scout Court of Honor.

A life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 914 Intrepid West Mifflin was presented a national writing award by Past VFW National Commander John A. Biedrzycki, Jr. during the District 29 meeting at VFW Post 402 in Coraopolis Nov. 20.
