Trail Bridge July 2019

The next meeting of the South Hills Friends of the Montour Trail will be held on July 9, 2019 at 6:30 PM at the South Park Township Library located at 2675 Brownsville Road, South Park, PA.

The South Hills Friends are responsible for maintenance of the Montour Trail between Library and Clairton.  Individuals interested in the Montour Trail are encouraged to attend.

‘Work Party’ July 13

The South Hills Friends of the Montour Trail monthly work party will be held on Saturday, July 13, 2019, the 2nd Saturday of the month. Volunteers will meet at the Brownsville Extension parking area (trail MP 37.5) at 9:00 AM.  Possible projects for this month are repair of a fence at the Triphammer trailhead or removal of graffiti at the Library Viaduct. Interested volunteers should contact info@montourtrail.org after July 10 for more information.

EagleScouts July 2019

Five local Boy Scouts, Blake Michael Allen Melchert, Andrew Paul Lepri, Andrew Lawrence Garland, Alexander T. Brownfield and Mason John Dill of Scout Troop 215 in Bethel Park, were recognized for attaining the rank of Eagle Scout in a Court of Honor ceremony held on Sunday June 2, at Bethel Presbyterian Church in Bethel Park.

Thomas Presbyterian Church will celebrate its annual ‘Day of Caring’ on September 21, 2019 by offering free home repairs to the local community.

On August 16 starting at 5:30 pm and continuing until 8:30 pm, Sisters Place will celebrate the Grand Re-Opening of their Family Playground – renovations made possible through funding provided by McAuley Ministries Foundation. Hamburgers, hot dogs, chips and drinks will be provided. Reservations are not necessary, but appreciated.
