The new Goodwill store set to open in West Mifflin on November 1 is another in the “next generation” of stores for Goodwill of Southwestern Pennsylvania.

It is the latest component of the organization’s ongoing expansion of its retail network, which is designed to generate more revenue to support mission programs and services for people who face barriers to employment. Goodwill SWPA opened stores in Cranberry PA and Westover WV earlier in 2017.

Located at 2212 Mountain View Drive, West Mifflin, at the Old Busy Beaver Site near Century Square, the new facility will have about 20 employees and will offer a wide selection of gently used clothing and household items. Goodwill representatives and local officials will take part in a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 9 a.m. on November 1.

The public is invited to celebrate the store’s grand opening throughout the day with giveaways, music, light refreshments, and even pony rides. Donations can be dropped off during regular store hours, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday. The 15,000-square-foot West Mifflin Goodwill store has 7,000 square feet of sales floor space and features a convenient drive-through, canopy-covered donation drop-off center.

“This store is one of several recently designed and constructed with our unique operations in mind. The production and donation areas are designed for efficiency, while the store is wide open and very green, with energy-efficient HVAC and electrical systems,” said Andrew Marano, Goodwill’s Vice President of Donated Goods Retail. “Most of all, each of our new and remodeled stores are designed to provide customers and donors with the very best Goodwill experience possible,” Mr. Marano said.
