Don’t Pass on the Opportunity to Become an MVP

SBA (US Small Business Administration) is making it even easier for small business executives to make good on new year growth and profit resolutions. By signing up for the agency’s free Emerging Leaders course, they’ll become the MVP (most valuable president) in their organization.

Since its inception in 2008, the Emerging Leaders program has been a proven catalyst for job creation and business growth for small businesses across America. In fact, 67% of participants surveyed have reported an increase in revenue after completing the course, and 75% report maintaining or creating new jobs in their communities.

According to SBA Pittsburgh District Director Dr. Kelly Hunt, in three years more than 50 leaders, heading a variety of businesses, have graduated from SBA Pittsburgh’s Emerging Leaders course.

“We’ve trained media, construction, IT and even orthotics presidents, now poised to grow our region,” Hunt added. “Our executives began working on their business, as well as in it. All believe the twice-monthly class was worth both the time and commute.”

To be considered for the 2018 Pittsburgh Emerging Leaders class, applicants must possess the following: have been in business for at least three years, have one additional employee besides self and have annual revenues of at least $400,000. Participants must be willing to commit to more than 100 hours of free, professional training, networking and peer-to-peer counseling delivered over seven months, apply at: www.interise.org/sbaemergingleaders.
