The Messenger is published on a monthly basis and is available FREE of charge at over 500 area locations throughout the South Hills and Mon valley. The entire newspaper can also be read online on their website - www.messengerpaper.com.

The Messenger is a division of Haniford Enterprises, LLC. Owner and publisher Doug Haniford launched the premier issue in June 2004 as the Union-Finley Messenger. Several years later in 2011, after much success and rapid growth, Haniford launched a second community newspaper called the Mon Valley Messenger. Then, in May 2014, the Union-Finley and Mon Valley newspapers were consolidated to form what is today known as the South Hills – Mon Valley Messenger.

The Messenger provides local content that resonates with readers. Every issue is full of information such as local real estate transactions, youth and school sports, church news, school news, local business news and a comprehensive listing of area events and happenings. Advertisements and coupons throughout the paper provide an affordable means for local businesses and merchants to promote themselves and communicate with their customers.

The South Hills – Mon Valley Messenger publishes community news free of charge on a space available basis. They welcome the submission of articles, news releases, community announcements, photos, events, and letters for publication. They can be reached by email at news@messengerpaper.com or by phone at 412-249-8177.
