Business & Merchant

By Jill Brown

Business at The Vintage Valley Too is improving every month since its opening on November 13, 2015. Their second shop is located at 515 Mckean Ave. next to Pet Boutique in Charleroi.

Jennifer Kisiday, Vintage Valley stores owner, stands ready for business in her Charleroi shop.

Owner Jennifer Kisiday opened her first Vintage Valley shop in Monongahela, 168 West Main St., in September 2012. Now, three and a half years after launching her initial endeavor, she has 20 vendors at the Charleroi location and business is going as well as in the Monongahela shop.

Because she needed more space than her Monongahela store, Kisiday says that she looked for another place. She had wanted the Charleroi shop previously, and loved it. Then it came up for rent again—so she took it. Renovations included knocking down some walls, painting and stripping floors.

Vendor John Mollenauer, former Charleroi mayor and former chamber executive director who works for the area agency on aging, said, “Predominantly antiques seem to be female, so I named mine ‘Mantiques.’ I sell (in the store) picture frames, prints, ties, artwork, etc.”

Kisiday said, “Business has been good. We’ve been very well received. We’ve been pleased with the community support and the amount of people that have come in off the street.” She says that with all the vendors selling everything from antiques to home-made items, “people know they’re going to get something different from everyone.”

Kisiday concluded, “Customers are surprised to see such a variety of things. They would be happy that there are businesses still coming to town. It’s exciting to see such positive feedback from customers.”

Charleroi store hours are: Tuesday through Friday: 11 a.m.-7 p.m. and Saturday: 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Monongahela hours: Tuesday through Friday: 11 a.m. - 6 p.m. and Saturday 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. For more information, follow them on Facebook at www.facebook.com/thevintagevalley.
