Library News

Donora Public Library announces August 2016 events.

All programs are free to the public.

Board Meeting: Wednesday, August 3rd @ 6 p.m.

The following programs will be on hold until October 2016:

Parents Are Us (Tuesday @ 5:30 p.m.)

Lego Club (Saturday, August 13 and Saturday, September 10 @ 1:30 p.m.)

WEE Build (Saturday, August 20 and Saturday, September 17 @ 1 p.m.)

These programs will resume as normally scheduled Tuesday, October 4.

Summer Reading:

Tuesday, August 2 @ 11 a.m. Visit with Donora Police Officer Dorcon and Safe ID Card by Baltimore Life.

Tuesday, August 9 @ 11 a.m. Award and Certificate Ceremony

Bridge Club:

Thursday, August 11 and 25 @ 3:30 p.m.

Book Club:

Thursday, August 18 @ 3 p.m.

The group will be discussing "The Salaryman's Wife" by Sujata Massey and will begin reading "Still Life with Bread Crumbs" by Anna Quindlen.

Knit & Crochet Group:

Thursday, August 11 and 25 @ 5:30 p.m.

It may only be August, but fall around the corner, and wouldn't it be nice to make yourself a beautiful new scarf for those windy days that are on their way?

Story Time: Fridays at 11 a.m.

Ages: Birth to 5 years

Miss Angie will be whipping up some fun end of summer surprises for her story time group. We will be learning about seasons and getting ourselves prepared for the new school year!!! Room is still available for anyone interested in having a fun filled hour of stories, crafts and fun!

CORRECTION!

We will not be holding our flea market on September 24 as originally advertised. A new date will be advertised in the September edition. We are still accepting donations for the book sale and flea market.

Interview Assistance

Mr. Michael Enwright is still accepting appointments for any Donora and or surrounding area resident that would like help applying for new employment and or pointers for the interviewing processes. You can contact Angela to schedule an appointment for you.
