Rostraver Public Library announces the folowing October Events.

The Rostraver Public Library will present singer and pianist Cahal Dunne as their fall fundraiser on Saturday, October 8 at the Rostraver Central Fire Hall. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. with the performance slated for 7:30. Tickets are $20 in advance (available at the library) or $25 at the door. Evening includes coffee and dessert, raffle baskets, silent auction and a 50/50. BYOB and snacks is welcome. For more info, call the library at 734-379-5511.

Two additional fundraisers are currently available: the library is selling Enjoy Books for $30 to benefit general operations. "Lunch Is On Us" features gift cards from a variety of regional restaurants including Bill's, Carriage Inn, Randall's, LaEda, Primanti's, Italian Village Pizza, Taco Bell, Chik-fil-A, Speers St. Grill, and more. Winners will be announced October 8. Stop by the library for more info.

Fall Family Fun Day is Saturday, October 15 at 1 p.m. A variety of Halloween and harvest-themed activities will be offered for children and their parents or grandparents to enjoy. Please call the library for the time and agenda specifics. Preregistration is required by Thursday, Oct. 13.

Gina McGrath of the Greensburg YWCA Technology Department will be on hand on Tuesday, October 18 at 11 a.m. for a technology workshop, to handle questions and answers about all brands and operating systems of smart phones. Cost of the program is $5 and preregistration is requested.

The Afternoon Book Club meets the second Wednesday of every month at 1 p.m. The Evening Book Club meets the third Monday at 7 p.m. The evening club is newly formed and additional members are welcome. The October book is "The Lemon Orchard" by Luanne Rice.

The Knitters meet every Tuesday. October 4 and 18, the group will meet at 1 p.m. while on the 11 and 25 the meeting is 7 p.m.

Preschool Storytime meets Thursday and Friday mornings in several section times. It is open to children ages 3 through 5 years of age. Preregistration is required by calling the library.

The library is currently accepting donations of gently used books for the book sale. Please, no encyclopedias, text books, magazines, or VHS tapes.
