Monessen Public Library’s children’s department, 326 Donner Ave., held an annual royal tea party on May 12 from 11 a.m. – noon for all “royalty” and “ladies of the realm” who were “hearby requested to bring their royal mums,” according to posted invitations.

Some of the children at the royal tea party gather for a photo with Marsha Adams, Library Youth Services Coordinator.

They served tea, pink lemonade, coffee, tea cakes and finger sandwiches. All mums were truly honored, and each had a fantastic time, fit for a queen.

Marsha Adams, Youth Services Coordinator at Monessen Library, hosted the event, now in its third year, and took the opportunity to impart the little princesses with lessons on etiquette and games. The children also had a good time, along with the special ladies in their lives they brought with them.
