Library News

The West Newton Library received this beautiful donation from Sara Keckeisen, the great-great-great-granddaughter of Hugh and Margaret Neilson Fergus.

WNdonation
The Thorn and the Thistle, Volume 2. Part 1

She writes that “The Thorn and the Thistle, Volume 2. Part 1” is the second volume of a projected four-volume history of her Mitchell, Morrow, Fergus and Judge families.

Copies were also donated to the McKeesport Heritage Center, McKeesport; and the Westmoreland County Historical Society, Greensburg.

We will have these cataloged and available for people to read in our reference room during library hours, Monday and Thursday from 12 – 5 p.m., Wednesday from 12-8 p.m., and Saturday from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. The books cannot be checked out; they must remain in the reference room.
