Library News

Come one, come all to the Friends of the West Newton Library's Huge Book Sale at the historic Plumer House, located on South Water St. in West Newton, on Saturday, September 6 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday, September 7 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

We will have rooms of books for you to browse with over 1,000 books, if not more. You can't beat our prices - only $5 to fill a bag. If you don't need a bag of books, we will have paperbacks for 25¢ each and hardbacks for $1each. While in town, make sure to hit the annual West Newton Community Festival, going on up the street, as well as the Simeral Square Farmers' Market on Saturday. All proceeds raised benefit the West Newton Public Library.

The West Newton Library is pleased to announce its 2nd Annual Tea on Broadway, hosted by Emma Jean Pritchard on Saturday, September 13 at 1 p.m. The event will take place in the garden of Mrs. Pritchard at 220 Broadway St. in West Newton. Tickets will be on sale at the West Newton Library, Gary's Chuck Wagon, or from any member of the library. Tickets are only $20 and the menu will include chicken salad croissants, pasta salad, fresh fruit, sweet breads, cheesecake, and beverages. We will again be featuring a wonderful gift basket raffle, 50/50 and some great entertainment. The event will be held rain or shine. In case of rain, we will be under a tent.
