Library News

The Board of Trustees will meet at the library Thursday, October 2 at 7 p.m. Library issues will be discussed and the public is invited to attend.

 

The Friends of the Bentleyville Public Library will meet at the library Monday, October 27 at 6:30 p.m. Fundraising efforts to support the library will be discussed. Anyone interested in joining this active group is encouraged to attend.

The Bentleyville Public Library will be closed October 11 and 13 in observance of Columbus Day.

The Bentleyville Public Library Book Sale will be Thursday, October 23, 9 a.m. - 7:30 p.m.; Friday, October 24, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.; and Saturday, October 25, 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. Books will be $5/bag or $1 each with other items priced as marked. Donations for the sale may be made at the library during open hours. We do not accept donations of encyclopedias, text books or damp and musty items.

The Bentleyville Public Library will offer a 'Family Fun' evening on Wednesday, October 15 at 5:30 p.m. This fun-filled evening will include pumpkin stories, pumpkin crafts, and silly songs with Ms. Char. All ages are invited to attend, but please register at 724-239-5122.

Bentleyville Public Library is accepting registration for the fall Storytime sessions on Mondays at 11 a.m. Children ages 30 months - 5 years will enjoy stories, crafts and silly songs. Please register at 724-239-5122.

The Friends of the Bentleyville Public Library are offering a "Black Friday Shopping Spree" ticket, which will include a $100 gift card to EACH of these stores: Macy's; Sears; Kohl's; Marshall's/TJ Maxx; Lowe's; the Home Depot; Toys R Us; Walmart; Target; Giant Eagle; K-Mart and Peebles. Tickets are $3 each and play on the November 22 evening drawing of the PA lottery. For more information, contact the library at 724-239-5122.

The Friends of the Bentleyville Public Library will hold their annual Costume Jewelry Sale on Friday, November 14 at 10 a.m. Early birds may gain access to the sale at 9:30 a.m. with a $5 entry fee at the door. The sale will continue Saturday, November 15 from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. This year's sale will include scarves. Donations of items are still being accepted.

TOPS® (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) Chapter 1681 will meet at the Bentleyville Public Library every Tuesday evening, 5 p.m. Weigh-in and meetings begin at 5:30 p.m. First meeting is free and the yearly membership is $28 with a $2 meeting fee. TOPS® is a non-profit weight support group and advocates a basic exchange menu plan and moderate exercise for losing weight and maintaining it. Mark your calendar for Wednesday, October 29, when the Tradesman's Inn will generously donate 10% of their sales to the Bentleyville Public Library. The Inn is open 11 a.m. – midnight and is a great place to take your whole family for lunch or dinner. Please come out and support the Bentleyville Public Library at the Tradesman's Inn, 1769 E. National Pike, Scenery Hill, on Rt. 40.
