Rostraver Public Library recently announced its March Events.

Rostraver Public Library will show the film "Hop" at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 5. The PG rated movie is the story of the Easter Bunny's son, E.B. staying as a house guest with a human family told through a combination of animation and live action. Pop corn will be served.

March Monday Movie Matinees kick off with "The 33," the story of the trapped Chilean miners, on March 7 at 1 p.m. The following weeks' films are "Max," "Bridge of Spies," and "Goosebumps." The showings are free and open to the public.

"Brown Bag Brunch and Learn" will feature the Eastern European tradition of psyanky on Wednesday, March 16 at 11:00 a.m. The library will have coffee and Danish as a practitioner of the egg decorating art discusses the method and heritage of creating the intricate Easter eggs.

Historical re-enactor Charles McCormick will be on hand on Monday, March 21 in the role of "Cahal Macormac," an emigrant from County Down in Ireland to the American frontier in colonial and Revolutionary times. The program is at 6:30 p.m. and is free and open to the public

In anticipation of National Poetry Month in April, the library is holding a poetry competition. Patrons and the public are invited to submit poems to the library in March. The competition is divided in first through third grade; fourth and fifth grade; sixth through eighth grade; high school; and adults. All entries must be submitted by April 1. First-place prizes will be awarded in each age category. Winners will be announced April 12.

The Knitters meet each Tuesday and alternate the time between afternoon and evening. Please call the library at 724-379-5511 for the time schedule.

The Book Club will meet at 1 p.m. on March 11. New members are always welcome.

Preschool Storytime for those 3-5 years of age meets on Thursday and Friday morning. Preregistration is required. For space availability please call the library.
