 K-9 Police Story Time

Join us for an exciting story time as we welcome K-9 Riad and Officer Fleckenstein to the Library. We will read books, meet Riad, complete a craft, enjoy a snack, and more! All ages are welcome. Registration is preferred.

 Summer Reading Club for Kids & Teens

This year’s theme – Ready, Set, Read! – will explore health, fitness, the Olympics, and movement and will encourage children and teens to participate in these activities through books, crafts, games, and many more special summer activities! Each age group will have a weekly meeting.

 Little Dribblers

Although your little one may not be able to read yet, by reading together, they are learning to recognize vocabulary and expanding their minds. Join us for weekly story times to hear stories, rhymes, and songs. Ages: Birth to 3.

Thursdays, 10:30 – 11 a.m. (June 16 – August 4)

Sprinters

For your new readers Pre-Kindergarten to 2nd grade, join us for a weekly summer reading club meeting were we will read stories, play games, make crafts, and explore the summer reading theme.

Thursdays, 3:45-4:30 p.m. (June 16 – August 4)

 Hurdlers

For the more experienced readers in 3rd through 5th grade, join us for a weekly summer reading club meeting, where we will read stories, play games, make crafts, and explore the summer reading theme.

Wednesdays, 3:30 – 4:15 p.m. (June 15 – August 3)

Major Leaguers

For our tweens and teens in 6th through 12th grade, join us for a weekly summer reading club meeting, where we will explore books, games, crafts, trivia, and more centered on the Summer Reading theme.

Mondays, 3:30 – 4:30 p.m. (June 13 – August 1)

 Adult Summer Reading at the Castle Shannon Library

This year’s theme is Exercise Your Mind. Reading books and attending programs will give you a chance to win an Amazon Kindle Fire.  The more books you read and the more programs you attend, the better! The reading program will run from June 20 - August 5.

New Release Movie Night

Come to the library on Wednesday, June 8 at 6:30 p.m. to watch this film that is based on the book by Chuck Hogan on our BIG screen. As an American ambassador is killed during an attack at a U.S. compound in Libya, a security team struggles to make sense out of the chaos. Light refreshments will be served. Registration is preferred. Rated-R

Crafternoons for Adults and Seniors at the Library

Join us the third Wednesday of each month for Crafternoons. We will meet downstairs from 2:30-4:30 p.m. Bring your best craft ideas with you. This is an informal gathering and a chance to meet new people and learn new craft ideas. Adults ages 18 and over welcome. Our next meeting will be Wednesday, June 15. If you cannot make it in the afternoon, stop by between 6p.m.-8p.m. that night!

*We will be doing MASON JAR LANTERNS along with your other craft ideas.

Movie Night @ the Library

Come to Library on Thursday, June 16 at 7p.m. to watch the story of Eddie Edwards, the notoriously tenacious British underdog ski jumper who charmed the world at the 1988 Winter Olympics. Light refreshments will be served. Registration is preferred. Rated PG-13.
