Local Death Notices

Nile Franklin "Frank" Barton, age 82, of Jefferson Hills, passed away surrounded by his loving family on December 7, 2018.

Frank is survived by his beloved Wife of 58 years Carole (Dougherty) Barton; loving father to Nile James (Christine), Timothy R. Barton, Paula (Bob) Silvasy, Carol McSurdy; grandfather of Tim, Cory, Casey, and Kayla; brother of Norma (Hervey) Ahlborn, Virgil (Pauline) Barton and the late Katherine (David) Pershing; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, M. Nile and Mary (Deremer) Barton.

Frank was a survey engineer for 55 years at Bierworth, Barton, Burn and Associates, he also served on the Jefferson Hills Planning Commission for many years. Frank was athlete and a youth sports coach and an avid outdoorsman. He proudly served his country as a Staff Sgt. in the 110th National Guard in Monongahela PA.
