Two women who lost their battles with cancer were honored as their family donated $1,500 in their memory to Monongahela Valley Hospital's Charles L. and Rose Sweeney Melenyzer Pavilion and Regional Cancer Center.

The funds raised will benefit the Ensure Fund, which provides MVH's cancer patients with nutritional supplements vital to their treatment.

Kelly Sesco and family held the Second Annual Oldies Dance on May 10 in West Mifflin with the music once enjoyed by the late Kim Davis of Allenport and the late Diane Sesco of NC.

Kim Davis is Kelly's late mother, and Diane Sesco is Kelly's late mother-in-law, who died of cancer at age 58. Gabrielle Nolder, Kelly's cousin, came up with the idea of holding an oldies dance; her parents are Tracy Barr, who also helped with the dance, and Ken Nolder. The family lives in Elizabeth.

"We want to help those suffering like my mom did and we want this event to help raise awareness about a disease that can surface at any time," said Mrs. Sesco.

Zahalsky, M.D., director, Medical Oncology, with Jessica Fitch, oncology RN.
