Fallowfield Township Supervisor Earl P. Sadler has been appointed by the Washington County Commissioners to the Washington County Farmland Preservation Board.

The program is designed to protect viable agricultural lands by acquiring agriculture conservation easements, which prevents the development or improvement of the land for any purpose other than agricultural production. Washington County passed a resolution in 1994 establishing the County Agricultural Land Preservation Board. There are a total of seven board members.

Pennsylvania leads the nation in the number of farms and acres preserved, although according to the American Farmland Trust, Pennsylvania is losing more than 40 acres of farmland daily.

Earl P. Sadler was elected Fallowfield Township Supervisor in 2010. He has been very active in repairing and updating the roads and infrastructure in the Township. Earl is an advocate for the Township’s safety and self-sufficiency. He is fiscally responsible and works for the people. The Commissioners appointed Earl to this prestigious position recognizing his knowledge, dedication and commitment to continuous improvement of our Township.
