Next summer, Susan Fancsali, a senior at California University of Pennsylvania, will compete for the national title of USA National Miss, thousands of dollars in college scholarships, prizes and full-ride college scholarships to Troy University in Alabama.

National Miss CAndidate, Susan Fancsali

Along with outstanding young women from across the United States, Susan, who is the reigning USA National Miss Northern States, will travel to the Boca Resort and Beach Club in July for the USA National Miss Scholarship Pageant. Representing the state, Susan will compete in evening gown, interview and a runway fashion show event in order to claim the honor of being crowned the national winner.

Susan was recently crowned USA National Miss Northern States 2016. Last November, she was crowned USA National Miss Pennsylvania 2015.

After competing at the national level, where she won the Humanitarian award, she came back home to win her state volunteer award before crowning her successor. She then re-competed for the next title, as you can only win the Pennsylvania title once.

Susan is currently getting ready to graduate in December from California University of PA with a degree in human resource management with minors in marketing and business management. She is a Presidential Scholar as well. Susan will begin her MBA at California University in January.

Susan has a work study position in the Academic Records Dept. at Cal U, works part-time at LA Fitness in Pleasant Hills, and has an online internship with THE PAGEANT PLANET, where she asks the question of the day and is the book of the month club moderator. She is hoping to continue her volunteering for the Ronald McDonald House, Special Olympics, participating in events at her local library and making homemade greeting cards for Meals-On-Wheels.

For Susan, she sees pageantry as a way of making a difference in the world. This was something she began at 19, so pageantry is basically new to her. She is now 23.

“USA National Miss combines all the beauty and excitement of pageantry with the glamour and energy of a runway fashion show - while recognizing the personal achievement, community involvement and academic excellence of young women all across the USA,” said USA National Miss Executive Director Jackie Watson. “Our program is designed to award young women for their accomplishments, and to mentor them to reach their goals and unleash their true potential, while encouraging them to be articulate young women with a strong sense of self worth.”
