Class memories and much laughter were shared among the 152 guests. Special presentations honored classmates who have passed and those who served in the military. Mary Jane Thompson Ahwesh and Joe Sholtis lead the Pledge of Allegiance, Tom Sollosi gave the blessing and Rich Bucchianeri gave the class toast after thanking the 50th reunion chair, Judy Donina Wolf of Huntington Beach, California.

There were golden oldies and many song dedications played by DJs Ralph Trilli and Joe Treckie. Joe Sholtis also organized a “Fore the Fiftieth” golf tournament at Rolling Green Golf Course in Eighty Four the day prior.

The evening began with an appetizer and punch reception, followed by entrees of prime rib, salmon or stuffed chicken and ended with specially made cakes highlighting the school colors (red and white), class colors (blue and gold) and the sports teams of 1966. The championship football team assembled for a group photo.

Each classmate received a memory book of stories and class contacts highlighted by the fabulous artwork of Jim Smarilli, who has created many past reunion logos. Attendees were also given a poster of the MHS Wildcat that Jim created with nostalgic words and phrases that were submitted over the past year. The class group photo was taken by Chris Grilli. Photos and other memorabilia were on display. Several classmates and local businesses in the Mon Valley donated raffle prizes.

Co-chair Jean Hartman Fazzini of Eighty Four made picture name tags, centerpieces from old records filled with nostalgic candies and candle holders with 1966 classmate photos. Bob Allridge of Finleyville provided the reunion

venue. Other committee members were Sharon Turini-Kent, Mary Beth Keeney Morris, Sandra Widmer Reynolds, Peggi Milligan Brooks, Elissa Marraccini Stein, Mary Kay Lukens Becker and Carole Hofmeister Stepinski.

In addition to the Saturday dinner dance and Friday golf, the class also had a “Senior Girls Tea” on August 20, organized by Cheryl McKinney. Fourteen ladies met for afternoon tea with scones, soup, salad, tea sandwiches and desserts at Serendipity Tea Room in Belle Vernon. A Friday, August 26 mixer at Mineral Beach Car Cruise attracted about sixty classmates.
