Michael L. Namie is announcing that he will seek re-election for Washington County Controller. Mr. Namie will campaign for re-election based upon his proven record of fiscal conservatism during his four terms as County Controller. He states:

“I am seeking re-election based upon my proven record of making sound decisions in the best interests of the taxpayers. I have always performed my duties as County Controller with the utmost integrity, accountability and independence. My main goal is to always meet the taxpayers’ expectation that there is a “watchdog” in county government making sure that tax dollars are being expended properly on their behalf. In keeping with that expectation, I have consistently operated my office under budget, saving the taxpayers in excess of $395,000. Experience and qualifications are essential for the office of County Controller. I have always been your full-time Controller and, if re-elected, I will continue to be your “fiscal watchdog,” performing my duties with integrity, dedication and professionalism.”

Mr. Namie serves as a member of the Washington County Prison Board, Washington County Salary Board and the Washington County Retirement Board and is a past president of the Pennsylvania State Association of County Controllers.

Mr. Namie is a 1986 graduate of Washington & Jefferson College and a lifelong resident of Washington County. He is married to Cindy (Cimino) Namie and has two children, Michael and Morgan, ages 23 and 19. They reside in Canton Township.
