The Monessen Amphitheater Committee, a 501(c) (3) organization whose mission is to plan free-to-the-public events at Monessen City Park Amphitheater, has recently accepted two grants.

The first grant is from the Westmoreland Foundation, which is part of the Pittsburgh Foundation. The grant monies awarded totaled $13,000 and will be used for new, professional-grade sound equipment used for events that the committee puts on throughout the year. It will not be permanent equipment for the venue, but instead will be used only for the nine amphitheater committee events put on each year.

The second grant is from the Laurel Highlands Visitors Bureau. The committee was awarded $5,000 to cover marketing expenses for the 2017 season. The Monessen Amphitheater Committee is very excited to work with the Laurel Highlands Visitors Bureau for a second year.
