Shorraw was the first Monessen representative to be invited to speak by the state party since the late Monessen Mayor Hugo Parente. Shorraw also attended Governor Wolf’s reception on Friday evening.

The Keystone Dinner featured speeches from Shorraw as well as State Representative Patty Kim (103rd District), State Senator Vincent Hughes (7th District), and the keynote speaker, Michael Blake, who serves as the Democratic National Committee Vice Chair.

The State Democratic Committee acknowledged Shorraw for his primary election win, as well as his community service to the City of Monessen. The mayoral nominee was also recognized for his efforts to mobilize youth and young adults to be more active in their communities.
