Donations Needed From Local Residents

An effort is underway to try and raise funds to install a Veterans Honor Roll at the recently renamed Union Township Veterans’ Memorial Park on Brownsville Road.

There are 240 veterans from the Finleyville and Union Township area who served and gave their lives for our country. This Honor Roll would be a tribute and recognition for their sacrifice.

Finleyville resident William Castor who helped facilitate the renaming of the park on Brownsville Road is leading the effort to install the Veterans Honor Roll. "I am getting help from businesses in our area, and also from the Veteran’s club, but we could really use donations from our residents," said Castor. He added that the estimated cost for a new Veterans Honor Roll for the park is about $8,000.

This is a great way to honor and memorialize the local veterans who are no longer with us. If you can make a donation to this worthy cause, please write out a check made payable to: Union Township Veterans’ Memorial Park, and mail it to:

William Castor
3464 Fawn Valley Lane
Finleyville, PA 15332

Residents and businesses who can contribute to this cause are encouraged to contact William Castor at 724-348-7016 with any questions or for additional information.
