State Senator Camera Bartolotta (R-46) recently announced she would not run for U.S. Congress.

“The outpouring of support and encouragement I have received to run for U.S. Congress is truly humbling, but at this time I feel that I have more work left to accomplish in Harrisburg,” said Bartolotta. “Serving the hardworking people of the 46th State Senatorial District is a responsibility I take seriously and I will continue to fight to protect our family-sustaining jobs, grow our economy, and tackle the opioid epidemic.

In the State Senate, Senator Bartolotta helped lead the effort to stop proposals to dramatically increase our sales and income taxes and voted against a job-killing energy tax. She authored legislation to protect our fresh water supply by ensuring the safe use of treated mine water in oil and gas operations, preserving good jobs for our area workforce.

One of Senator Bartolotta’s proudest achievements was securing a $3 million grant through the state’s Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program to help renovate the Mining Technology and Training Center in Ruff Creek into a center that will help train and prepare our workforce for high-demand jobs, like cyber security, medical coding, diesel repair and commercial driver licensing and training programs.

Additionally, Senator Bartolotta has championed legislation to fight against the scourge of opioid addiction and stiffen penalties for drug dealers.
Senator Bartolotta is pro-life and a strong supporter of our 2nd Amendment rights.

The 46th State Senatorial District is comprised of all or parts of Beaver, Washington and Greene counties. Senator Bartolotta is a longtime resident of Monongahela and she is a member of the Saint Damien of Molokai Catholic Church. Camera’s family is very important to her and she is very proud of her children. Her daughter, Devin, is an award-winning news reporter, producer and anchor in Baltimore. Her son, Dante, is pursuing a career in the military. Her stepdaughter, Danielle, and son-in-law, Matthew, are successful business owners in Florida. Her stepson, Damon, is a steamfitter and lives in Belle Vernon with his wife, Laurie.
