Monongahela Woman's Club Pleased With Results of First ‘Bare Necessities’ Program

The Monongahela Woman's Club initiated a new outreach program last September called "Bare Necessities".

MonWomen
Stanley Welsh of the Monongahela Elks Lodge #455 presents a check to President Candace McConnell and program chair Pamela Priches.

The purpose of the program is to help provide the children of the Ringgold School District with such basic needs as clothing, shoes, toiletries, etc. The recipients of these items are identified by school nurses, guidance counselors, and teachers.

During the last eight months the club has received donations of over $3,000 to help with the program in addition to the funds donated by the club itself. The Club would like to take this opportunity to thank the following for their generous donations: The Monongahela Farmers' Market sponsored by Chaney’s; Monongahela Lions Club; Handyman Matters; State Farm, Max Chywaski, agent; Pete Jenkins Tax Accounting and Financial Services; Dettores Pizza; Monongahela Animal Hospital; Hufnagel Self Storage; Elks Lodge #455; and a very generous individual who prefers to remain anonymous. The children have received so many needed items through their generosity. We look forward to continuing the program next school year with the help and support of the community.
