The Mon Valley Quilt Club recently announced that the 2019 recipient of their annual scholarship is Corrine Mandarino.

She is the daughter of Betsy Mandarino of Rostraver Twp. and Tom Mandarino. Corrine is a 2019 graduate of Belle Vernon Area High School and will be studying Theater/ Visual & Media Arts at the University of Richmond in Virginia this fall.

The Mon Valley Quilt Club is a group of 65 quilters who enjoy the hobby and are active in theirfive county region of southwest PA. In addition to the yearly scholarship for a student pursuing post- secondary studies in the arts, the group provides handmade quilts to the “Linus Project” for sick children and donates to a women’s shelter through Domestic Violence Services of SW PA. The group will be hosting a Quilt Show at the Mon Valley YMCA September 20 and 21. The Public is invited to attend.
