The Monongahela Youth Main Street Program (M.y. Main Street) will be hosting their first annual Street Fair on the evenings of August 9 and 10. The fair will be held on 3rd Street in Monongahela from 6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.

The youth’s mission is to engage our community into both the history and future of the city of Monongahela. The Street Fair coincides appropriately with the 250th anniversary celebration of the settlement of the Monongahela Area in the 1760s. Through involving the local businesses in sales booths, Chinese auctions, games, and entertainment, the organization hopes to spread what Monongahela, or “Mon City” has to offer.

Executive Committee members Ethan Gamble, Jimmy Braum, and Main Street Program Executive Director Terry Necciai have planned numerous activities. Forward Township resident Dana Dolfi will be demonstrating his thunderous “horn machine” that he has made using the historic horns from local steel mills, barges, and even ocean-going vessels. Entertainment will be provided by students of ‘From The Top Music Shop’, as well as various street “buskers” or musicians. Little City Coffee, Sam’s Gyros and Italian Village Pizza will be the big names in the food vendors. There will be numerous Chinese auction baskets packed with goods from local town favorites -- Sparkles by Shell, DeVore Hardware, Rabe’s Trading Post, Main Street Gypsy, and the Bubblery Pittsburgh, among others.

To stay up-to-date on the street fair and any future events, be sure to LIKE our Facebook page, M.y. Mainstreet Program.
