Whitehall Public Library will host a presentation, “Pittsburgh's Lost Outpost: A Talk with Jason Cherry” on Tuesday, August 20 at 7:00 PM.

In the year 1754, before a young George Washington would set the world on fire, trader William Trent and his hired volunteers began an outpost at the "forks of the Ohio”. This simple act would not only lay the foundation for the conflict known as the Seven Years War, but also became the early remnants of the city we know today as Pittsburgh. Join author Jason Cherry for a spirited picture presentation about his book, Pittsburgh’s Lost Outpost. In it, he explores recently uncovered details about the lost outpost and pieces together Trent’s eventual role in American history!

The event is FREE - Registration required, call 412-882-6622. Signed books will be on sale for $20. Cash and credit cards accepted. The Whitehall Public Library is located at 100 Borough Park Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15236. For more information, call 412-882-6622, or visit their website www.whitehallpubliclibrary.org.
