 Peters Creek Historical Society invites members and the public to an evening of nostalgia, as we present "Remembering Islays" on Monday, September 23 at 7:30 pm in the social room of Wrights United Methodist Church, 788 Venetia Road, Venetia.

Islay Store Front on Main Street facing 3rd, Monongahela, Pa.

Guest speaker and Monongahela resident Jay Ramsey, assisted by Douglas Cole, who both worked for the company, will present an interesting, historical reflection on a once community landmark fondly remembered for its chipped ham, Klondike bars and mouth watering ice cream "skyscraper". The program is sure to relate to many of those who grew up with an Islay store in their hometown.

Further information on the society can be found on its website www.peterscreekhistoricalsociety.org.  Because of public interest, the Enoch Wright House and Log Cabin, headquarters of the society will be extended and opened for tour on Sunday, September 15 and Sunday, September 29 from 1pm-3pm.
