Family Night: Light and Shadow Workshop

Monday, October 4 at 6:30 PM 

This Leap into Science workshop will provide hands-on activities and experiments for kids to explore the characteristics of light and shadow. Put Your Best Fork Forward: A Talk About Diabetes, Nutrition, and Goals

Wednesday, October 6 at 1:00 PM 

Whether you have diabetes, are unsure about your status, or simply curious about preventive measures, please join the library for a program about fast facts and long-term goals.  Registered Dietitian Carla DeJesus will lead a short and informal chat that will show us the way to make small changes for big results –one forkful at a time!   Ms. DeJesus will review diabetes basics, lessons on carb counting and goal setting, and tutorials on new technology for checking blood glucose.  Healthy refreshments will be provided. Teen Zombie Fest 

Tuesday, October 12 from 3:30-5:30 PM

Get ready for Halloween with our zombie walk and special effects program. Join us anytime between 3:30-5:30 pm for gory fun! Learn how to create spooky effects such as fake guts, blood, scar wax and techniques for zombie make-up. Participants are encouraged to come dressed as a zombie.
