Women are amazing! Need proof? Just come to the West Jefferson Hills Historical Society's program “First Ladies of Western Pennsylvania” held at 7:00 P.M. on July 26 in the Community Rooms of the Jefferson Hills Borough Building.

JudySutton

You will hear the stories of several remarkable women who once lived in Western Pennsylvania. Heinz History Center Docent, Judy Sutton, will tell the stories of Pittsburgh women like abolitionist Jane Grey Swisshelm, famed Pittsburgh Dispatch reporter Nellie Bly, author of ‘The History of the Standard Oil Company’ Ida Tarbell, and jazz pianist, arranger, and composer Mary Lou Williams. Society and community members are sure to be enthralled by this free program about extraordinary local women.
