On Friday, June 13, members of the Athene Club gathered at the Back Porch Restaurant for their Annual June luncheon.

 

President Bonnie Daylong welcomed Athene members as well as new members Linda Gray and Cindy Sukel.

Mary Lou Mudrick led the Club in the Club Collect and the Pledge of Allegiance.

Daylong thanked the hostesses on the June Committee: Judy Rager, Chairperson, assisted by Sylvia Whiten and Eleanor Turnbull. The Committee chose a patriotic theme for their table decorations and favors in honor of Flag Day, June 14th.

Following the invocation and lunch, June birthdays were recognized for June Hopkins and Sylvia Whiten.

The following members were recognized and received gifts from President Daylong for having perfect attendance for the past two years: Jean Careatti, Arlene Celaschi, Ruth Hanchin, June Hopkins, Mary Lou Mudrick, Mary Elizabeth Roberts, Sally Santini and LaVerne Williams.

Vice President Mary Lou Mudrick presented President Bonnie Daylong with a bracelet with the years of service engraved on it in appreciation of her service to the Athene Club.

The Installation of Officers was conducted by President Bonnie Daylong. The incoming new officers are: President, Ruth. Karlowsky; Vice President, Sylvia Whiten; Recording Secretary, Arlene Celaschi; Corresponding Secretary, Judy Rager; and Treasurer, LaVerne Williams. The gavel and flag were presented to the newly installed President Ruth Karlowsky and each of the officers received a gift from Bonnie Daylong.

President Ruth Karlowsky informed members that her theme for her two-year term would be 'Grace and Joy.' She thanked members for their vote of confidence and looks forward to serving the club with her officers and members of the board in September.
