The M.H.S. Class of '69 held their 45th year reunion on Saturday, August 2 at Mingo Creek Park. The two-day event was kicked off with a Friday night pre-reunion "Mixer" party at The Bar, located at 131 W. Main St. in Monongahela. The classmates enjoyed an evening of good food, good people, and meeting and greeting our former classmates.

Reunion1
Class of 69

On Saturday, there was a picnic at Mingo Creek Park. It was a fun day for all. The meal was catered by Spring House Market, located in Eighty Four. They provided on-site grilling, and the food was excellent and enjoyed by all.

Master of Ceremony Jack Withrow, who was also senior class president, led everyone through the scheduled events of the day. The class joined in song to sing "Our Alma Mater" which was led by Joellen Sharp-Borton, Diane Boal-Cersosimo, and Debbie Robison-Harn. The class gave a tribute to our deceased classmates, and as their names were read by Jack, there was a ringing of a bell, followed by a brief moment of silence.

There was a raffle of a Steelers Fan Sock Monkey, created by our own Cathy Vancik. Marlise Gabig-Yeatter was the lucky winner. The proceeds have been donated to The American Cancer Society, in honor of all our deceased classmates, friends and family whose lives were forever changed by cancer, and to our cancer survivors.

Class of 69

There was an awards ceremony, giving special thanks to the reunion helpers: Nancy Miklos-Beatty, Debbie Short-Germeo, Kathy Halverson-Haight, Barbara Caserta-Zampan, Debbie Robison-Harn, Jack Withrow, M.C., and Chuck Ott, D.J. They were all provided with certificates of appreciation. Certificates were also given to Debbie Short-Germeo, Debbie Robison-Harn, and Kathy Halverson-Haight, winners of the Refer a Classmate contest. John Hesse got the award for traveling the furthest to attend the reunion, traveling 2,600 miles! Barb Caserta-Zampan and James Paver were awarded 'early bird' certificates for being the first to send in their reunion dues. And a 'turtle' award was awarded to the person who was the last to send in reunion dues before the deadline. This 'honor' was awarded to Shirley Pager.

We enjoyed music from our era as well as current music, provided by Chuck Ott from the class of '67.

All in all, it was a fun day for all. Our next reunion will be for our 50th year, when the Class of '69 turns 69. Hope to see everyone there!
