Beth Israel Center Synagogue is located at the border of Pleasant Hills and Jefferson Hills at 115 Gill Hall Road. Rabbi Amy Greenbaum is the spiritual leader of this small but active Conservative synagogue.

The month of September will be a busy month because we will be celebrating the holy days of Rosh Hashanah, beginning with our Adult Education Lecture Series, and enjoying our regular Friday evening services. New members are welcome. Please contact the office at 412-655-2144 for additional information. Friday evening services: September 5, September 12, September 19, September 26 at 7:30 p.m.

Rosh Hashanah Services:

  • Wednesday, September 24, 8 p.m. - with Rabbi Amy Greenbaum
  • Thursday, September 25, 9 a.m. - with Cantor Bernard Rubb, Ken Regal, Stanley Selkowitz, and speaker Dr. Daniel Shrager. Services end at approximately 1 p.m.
  • Thursday, September 25, 3:30 p.m. - Tashlich Service - Will meet at the Elizabeth Riverfront along the Monongahela River with Rabbi Amy Greenbaum.
  • Friday, September 26, 9 a.m. - with Cantor Bernard Rubb, Ken Regal, Stanley Selkowitz, and Dr. Daniel Shrager. Services end at approximately 1 p.m.

Adult Education Lecture - Sunday, September 28, 7:30 p.m.

Speaker: Ms. Renee Piechocki. Her topic will be Public Art in the Pittsburgh Area. The lectures for this season are sponsored by Rachel and Arthur Weinblum, in memory of Arthur's parents. All lectures are free and open to the public. Please RSVP at 412-655-2144.
