The annual Saint Francis Parish Picnic held on the church grounds in Finleyville on August 17 was a huge success. Good food, entertainment, games for kids and grownups, and beautiful late summer weather made for a perfect event. What more could you ask for?

St Fran Picnic 006
Yum! That corn is good.

Well, you could have asked for: bingo in air conditioned Finley Hall, lamb being roasted over charcoal, kettle-cooked corn on the cob, rotisserie chicken, a huge Chinese auction, a bake sale, a country store with all sorts of things on sale, soft drinks, beer, roasted beef sandwiches, haluski, kielbasa, French fries, giant pretzels, games of chance, a DJ, a live brass band, dancing girls, and plenty of parking space – it was all there.

If you weren't there, you missed a great event but show up next year sometime in August – you won't be disappointed.
