On Sunday, September 21, many local residents ate out and made a donation to the Mon Valley Food Bank and the Finleyville Food Pantry by attending a roast beef dinner at St. Francis Finley Hall.

The St. Francis of Assisi High School Youth Ministry, in conjunction with the Finleyville Interfaith Group, held their 3rd annual roast beef dinner to benefit the Food Bank. There were 372 people in attendance, which also boasted a large Chinese auction. In all, $4,923 was raised for the Food Bank and Finleyville Food Pantry.

Thanks go out to Mary Jane Jurofcik and St. Francis Youth Ministry, who sponsored the event. Thanks also go out to folks from local churches that provided baked goods - St. Francis, Mingo Creek Presbyterian, Peter's Creek, Finleyville Presbyterian and Wright's Methodist. Each of the churches also donated a gift basket for the Chinese auction.

Appreciation also goes out to the local businesses that participated with a donation - Buck Drake Nursery; Eat 'n' Park; Eighty Four; Monongahela; Trax Farms; Lenik's Greenhouse; Chick-Fil-A in West Mifflin; Home Interiors; Sandy Hartzell; Brookside Lumber in Bethel Park; GFS; and West Mifflin.

Special thanks to Celebrity Chef Kathleen Alfred, who provided her time and more to prepare the dinners.
