Come and enjoy and old-fashioned Christmas from the 1940s at the 13th Annual Miracle On Main Street in downtown West Newton on Saturday, November 29 from 3 to 8:30 p.m.

This year's theme is "A Dickens Village." The traditional old-fashioned Christmas parade starts at 5:15 p.m. on Main Street. Following the parade, gather around the community Christmas tree and watch Santa bring the tree to life.

We have a variety of children's games and activities planned this year, including homemade cookie decorating at Simeral Square starting at 3 p.m. Mrs. Claus will be on hand reading her favorite Christmas stories to the children, and after the parade, you can stop by and meet St. Nick.

There will be food booths lining the streets as well as great hot items and baked goods from the Chuck Wagon and hot homemade pizza at the West Newton Pizza House, as well as a great selection of items from the West Newton Moose to temp your appetite.

Make sure to visit our Christkinlmarkt Holiday Craft & Vendor Market, located at the West Newton Senior Center and the West Newton United Presbyterian Church.

In addition, we will have DJ Galiffa on center stage pumping out the holiday tunes followed by musical performances from Stage Right and other local dance and voice talents. Jim Sykes from West Newton Piano and Voice will be tickling the keys of the organ at the West Newton United Presbyterian Church for his annual light-up night concert.

Downtown West Newton Inc. will be on hand hosting its annual Mega Gift Basket Raffle with over 50 items from which to choose. You can also try your luck at their lottery Christmas tree and their big time 50/50 drawing. Don't miss out on your annual hand-painted Christmas Ornament by glass artist Laverne Weaver.

New this year is visits to the reconstructed historic train station, located on the west side next to the trail. The building houses the Regional Trail office, and they will be hosting an open house and your chance to pick up some great West Newton-themed merchandise for Christmas.

Save the date and don't be late - this is a wonderful event you don't want to miss and will be held rain, snow or shine.

We are still taking applications for holiday vendors, food vendors and parade participants and volunteers for the evening. Give our office a call at 724-872-0100 and leave a message.
