The annual Washington County "Ag Days at the Mall" will take place on Friday and Saturday, March 13-14 at Washington Crown Center, 1500 West Chestnut St. This FREE event marks the 27th year of sharing agriculture with the community.

Ag Days gives Washington County farmers, agricultural organizations, agencies and businesses the opportunity to introduce their products and teach others about the #1 industry in Pennsylvania -agriculture. Farms, agricultural related businesses, organizations, agencies, county 4H Clubs and FFA chapters will be represented.

There will be something for everyone at Ag Days - food, crafts, equipment, animals, and entertainment. On Friday you can listen to some bluegrass/country music performed by Sandy Huffman, get a taste of the always popular "Super Sundae" presented by the Washington Dairy Club, and, finally, enjoy some square dancing by Chuck Monticello. On Saturday, modern violinist Katie Vercek will entertain you with an interactive music performance, there will be a Macy's fashion show with clothing modeled by county 4H members, a kid's pedal tractor pull, the Pioneer Cloggers, sheep shearing by Chris Lyle, meteorologist Dennis Bowman with Chester Drawers, the Oglebay Good Zoo Farmland Raptors program with live birds, an apple pie auction, raffle drawings, and closing out the event will be Avery Drummer Molek, the 8-year-old drumming sensation!

4H County Council and FFA members will have an activity and education area set up for children to visit. The famous Ag Days ducks with their slide will be entertaining everyone along with the just -hatched chicks! There is a photo contest for all ages sponsored by Washington County Farm Bureau (deadline is March 6th). To download the photo contest registration, go to the "Washington County Ag Days" Facebook page.

The Farm Bureau is also holding their annual "Pack the Tractor" event at Ag Days to collect food for the Washington County Food Bank. Please drop off a donation and "Pack the Tractor" for those less fortunate!

You can enter your apple pie for the contest and auction at the Cattlemen's table near the Pretzel Oven between noon and 2p.m. on Saturday. All proceeds from the apple pie auction benefit the Washington County Cattlemen's Association Advanced Education Support Grant.
