Steve Arnowitz is serving his third term as president of the Rotary Club of Charleroi. He has been an active member of the club since 2007.

Steve Arnowitz Named District Governor Nominee Designate for Rotary District 7330

During this time Steve has participated in a variety of local and district activities. He has welcomed students to the area through the short term foreign exchange program, has attended many events for causes championed by other clubs throughout the district and has volunteered through the Charleroi Club for the Salvation Army's annual Red Kettle Campaign.

Within the Charleroi Area School District, Steve and his club members have given dictionaries to elementary school students, recognized high school students as students of the month, and have enlisted middle school students as participants in the annual Rotary International peace card design contest.

Most recently, the Charleroi club was able to secure a matching grant from the Rotary Foundation to help the borough of Charleroi purchase security cameras. These cameras will assist area law enforcement personnel in their efforts to reduce crime throughout the Charleroi business and residential areas.

One of Steve's favorite accomplishments remains his dedication to District 7330's humanitarian efforts in the Dominican Republic. Steve has made three trips with other Rotarians and friends to work on various projects in and around Santo Domingo. Whether it is installing sand filters, painting, or making a sick child's day a little happier, Steve has found this work to be the most rewarding involvement for him. He has shared many Rotary moments from those visits with community and student groups, business leaders, and Rotary clubs throughout District 7330 and the surrounding districts.

Steve Arnowitz is a native of Southwestern Pennsylvania who has been married to the former Colleen Murphy for 36 years. Along with Colleen, Steve has begun to embrace the opportunities and challenges that will occur as he moves toward his year as the District Governor (2017 – 2018). Steve and Colleen are excited about the time they will spend together learning more about Rotary as well as continuing to promote the mission of Rotary through service to District 7330.
