Seven members of the Mingo Creek Presbyterian Church, ECO of Finleyville recently returned from an 8-day mission trip to Haiti.

Pictured are team members (l-r): George & Connie Powell; Rick Tatar; Pastor Glenn McClelland; Bryan Eckart; Ann Lorenzi; and Mimi Fillipelli.

From January 31 - February 7, the team worked at The Children's Village, located on the southern coast of Haiti in the village of St. George. They added partitions to existing buildings, built two showers, and installed five water buffalos that will collect rain water for use by The Children's Village residents.

The Children's Village is a multifaceted ministry of Harvest House Haiti (www.harvesthousehaiti.com) that, when completed, will provide a safe home for special needs children and children suffering with AIDS. Judy Foster, founder of HHH, is a Philadelphia-native and nurse who has lived and worked in Haiti since 1996.

Haiti is the 5th poorest country in the world, and the poorest in the western hemisphere. Our goal is to bring them the hope of Jesus Christ by helping to first meet their physical needs. We remember the words of our Lord: "Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for Me."
