A committee hearing on the environmental impact of natural gas vehicles will be held on October 1 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m at the Finleyville Community Center, 3547 Marion Ave. The hearing will feature testimony from the DEP, industry representatives and local businesses with experience in natural gas vehicles.

At the request of state Representative Rick Saccone (R-Allegheny/Washington), the Joint Legislative Air and Water Pollution Control and Conservation Committee (Joint Legislative Conservation Committee) will travel to Finleyville on Thursday, October 1, for a public hearing on the environmental impact of natural gas vehicles.

The hearing will focus on one of the more frequently overlooked aspects of natural gas vehicles – the impact these vehicles have on our environment. Representatives from the state Department of Environmental Protection, the natural gas industry and local organizations will testify on how the use of natural gas vehicles can help reduce emissions and promote domestic energy security.
