The Valley Art Club 73rd Annual Exhibition concluded with many winners.

Phyllis Walters took Best of Show: Portrait of a Horse; 1st place in the category of Animal: Horse in the Sun; and 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in the Landscape category. Walters began painting in 1992 and this was her first time to exhibit with the Valley Art Club.

Other “Best of” winners are:
• Best Valley Scene: Survivors and Supporters by Francine Herent Miceli
• Best Oil & Acrylic: Niagara by Victor Savage
• Best Watercolor: Laney Waits….and Waits by Christine Gilotty
• Best Other Media: Family Bond by Francine Herent Miceli

Other awards were given in the categories of: Abstract; Animal; Floral; Genre; Landscape/Seascape; Portrait and Still Life.
There were two awards given by the family of past president Mary Alvarez in her memory. These awards were Landscape: Sewickley Creek by Phyllis Walters and Floral: Floral Fragrance by Pat Jones.
The Valley Art Club will have an exhibit/sale with the West Newton Women’s Club on Nov. 14th from 10am -3pm at the Fells Methodist Church in Rostraver.
The next meeting of the Valley Art Club will be Tues. November 10 at 6 p.m. at SPHS, 300 Chamber Plaza Charleroi.
Art work can be viewed daily at SPHS, 300 Chamber Plaza Charleroi.
