People certainly got the news that the Charleroi Halloween Parade was rescheduled due to inclement weather from Wednesday to Thursday, Oct. 29 at 7 p.m., because the downtown sidewalks were lined with numerous spectators that evening.

With so many people, there was one incident that the police worked quickly to handle. The parade was sponsored by the Charleroi Borough and the Fire Department.
Food was available by the Charthene Club and featured hot dogs, chili, hot chocolate, etc. Cookies and cupcakes were sold as well. A Halloween fundraiser, food sale proceeds benefit CAHS students and the Charleroi community. A Thanksgiving basket raffle was also held.
The parade began with a police car riding past and throwing candy for children, followed by a fire truck, then an ambulance, both with goodies. There were Girl Scouts, majorettes, and other student participants. Bright lights, unique costumes and some music had people mesmerized right up to the end of the parade. All in all, the event was a frightfully good time.
