“On behalf of middle class blue collar workers, it’s time to deliver this seat from the political elites and return it to the people.”Democrat candidate for PA State House District 58 Chuck Mrlack, Jr., of Monessen, stated people are tired of the partisan gridlock in Harrisburg, and that if elected he would vote to override the Governor Wolf’s veto.

"For too long, our politicians have represented their party bosses, and not the people that are suffering and need the most help,” he stated, continuing, "Politicians are too worried about who is going to fund their next campaign rather than who's going to fund education, and fix the fact that schools are on the verge of closing, and our children's progress is being interrupted. We also must protect our seniors through true property tax relief.” Mrlack stated that he is a proud fiscal conservative, and without pension reform seniors will continue to struggle.

Mrlack believes that legislators during an impasse should not be paid. "I will vote to suspend the pay of legislators during prolonged budget negotiations," Mrlack said, concluding with, "I would love to vote to shrink the size of the legislature as well; I think there are way too many elected officials, which is another reason for nothing ever getting done. It's not about parties. If you keep the people's best interest first, then bipartisan efforts will only become natural."
