Peters Creek Historical Society welcomes Larry Gallant as their guest speaker on Monday, May 23 at 7:30 p.m., Wrights United Methodist Church, 788 Venetia Road, Venetia.

Copper plates dated to 1200 BC and found in 1890 in a burial mound at the present site of Clairton show remains of two “persons” of vast stature.

The program, “Mysteries of Ancient Pennsylvania,” will cover topics on the Mystery Stone and the Copper Plates of Peters Creek, the Monolith and Rock Shelter at Piney Fork, and the Giants of Finleyville and Elrama, as well as other mysteries. Mr. Gallant is an avid history buff, a member speaker of the Heinz History Center team, an associate editor of Ancient American Magazine, and the author of a forthcoming book titled “Prehistoric Pennsylvania.” The public is invited to attend and learn about the fascinating, historical mysteries found in our own backyard.
