3rd Annual Bike Decorating Content Planned in North Belle Vernon

Memorial Day has always been a very special day throughout all of our Mon Valley communities as we gather together and remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice in defense of our nation and our very way of life.

This year, Melanie Stringhill Patterson, owner of “The Good Ol’ Days House” vacation house rental in North Belle Vernon, will host its 3rd Annual Memorial Day Bike Decorating Contest and will open the opportunity for ALL patriotic Americans of all ages to decorate their bikes, trikes, wagons, scooters, and even wheelchairs to demonstrate their appreciation and support for our nation’s heroes.

It’s a small token of our patriotism and love of country, and it’s just like the way we used to do it in the good ol’ days. Get Grandma and Grandpa to show you how they did it and join us on Monday, May 30 at the Belle Vernon American Legion Post 659 Parking Lot at 9 a.m. to register.

All participants will receive a free Belle Vernon Dairy Queen ice cream cone and prizes will be awarded for the categories of: Most Original, Most Attractive, and Most Patriotic. Contact Melanie Patterson at 724-331-3654 for more details.
