Fun, tradition, awards! These are just some of the reasons the Brentwood 5K Firecracker draws over 2,000 runners to this annual event. This year, Allegheny Health Network at Cool Springs is joining the many supporters of this race.
We also welcome back the Steel City Road Runners Club as pacers. Elite Runners Time Management will provide the computerized registration and race results.
Fun? Yes! The homes festively decorated and the cheering crowd make this a community event that is memorable. Let us not forget the homeowners providing water or sprinklers for cooling along the course.
Tradition? Yes! We have many families that have made the Firecracker 5K part of their holiday tradition. And yes, we will have the beer truck.
Awards? Of course! In addition to traditional race age/place categories, all race participants are eligible for the random raffle drawing at the end of the race. Don't want to wait around to see if your number is called? This year numbers will be drawn once the race starts and will be posted for you to review and pick up your prize.
Our success depends on many volunteers to help with race day activities. If you need community service hours, we are looking for you to help, and you’ll receive a free T-shirt.
